Stage 2:Canary Wharf to Hungerford Bridge
Date:19/10/2002
Distance:6.5 miles
Conditions:Cloudless blue sky, warm once moving.

I was intending to take a local walk on Sunday as I had a visit to the stock car racing planned for the evening. The weather was supposed to be very wet over the weekend so when Saturday turned out to be a glorious Autumn day the temptation to continue the project was too strong and I decided to go after all. It was an excellent decision. The weather was perfect - if anything I took too many layers of clothing. Every time I visit the docklands I seem to be captured even more by the character and variety of architecture - a jumble of old and new. I find it a peaceful, calming place. It is hard to imagine that such a quiet, traffic free area could cover such a large region of one of the worlds biggest cities. One day perhaps I will be able to afford the £3/4m for an appartment in one of the riverside flats.
