Stage 3:Hungerford Bridge to Putney
Date:26/10/2002
Distance:8 miles
Conditions:Mostly blue sky, dry but breezy.

This leg started off well (!) with train delays due to a lightning strike overnight at a substation in Barnes. Once the walking began things went much better. The middle section was probably the hardest yet in terms of motivation as the surprising variety that characterised the earlier stages was missing. I also pushed myself quite hard to make the destination of Putney before sunset. I did it, and had my first chat with some fellow path walkers on the way. Despite even more difficulties getting home on the train afterwards, I felt it had been another good and rewarding day.
